Convention.
1981 Club formed by Robert Dellaposta from Lucerne Mines, Pennsylvania. Planned show and swap meet for 1982
Jan 1st Candy Gram published by Robert Dellaposta Robert. He Published the Candy Gram from Jan 1981 to Jun 1984
Dues was $15.00 for 12 issues per year of the Candy Gram (12 pages per issue).
Jul Dues was set at $18.00 per year
1982
Aug 1st Convention held August 6 & 7 in Indiana, Pennsylvania. It consisted of a Banquet and display of candy
containers by members. Activities include visiting local flea markets, antique shops and tour of a glass factory
in Jeannette, PA.
1983
Feb Candy Gram goes bi-monthly since Robert could not get members to contribute. Dues dropped to $10.00 per
year.
Jun 2nd Convention held at Harrisburg, PA. Membership rises to 78 members.
Oct Membership up to 92. Only 6 issues of Candy Gram published instead of 12 due to lack of member support.
1984
Apr Membership now 91 members.
Jun 3rd Convention held at Harrisburg, PA. Robert Phifer presented a proposed Constitution and By Laws which
were approved.
Jul Marilyn Cooper and Robert Phifer become co-editors of Candy Gram and serve to June 1986.
Became an official organized club. The name Candy Collectors of America was adopted.
Oct 1st issue to feature an actual photograph of a candy container.
Serge Agadjanian sold his collection of 253 pieces.
