Candy Container Collectors of America Reproductions Page 1
|
Each year at the club convention Terry Whitmeyer holds a workshop on reproductions. He brings an original and repro for many containers, and explains the
differences. Having a knowledge of what to look for can save you big bucks from some dealer who is trying to pass off a repro for a high priced old original.
Samples of most of the known repros are displayed so members can look at them and photograph them if so desired.

Typical Closure from Shackman Repros:
Cardboard closure that came with Boat. The closures were secured by wax. Unscrupulous antique dealers would
remove these closures and sell the candy container at the price for the original. Seldom found with box and closure
unless dealer has old store stock to sell.
