                 Candy Container Collectors of America
                                           Convention

Each year during the last week in June, The Candy Container Collectors of America hold their annual convention. The convention is held at this time to coincide with the
Kutztown Antique Extravaganza. Hundreds of antique dealers set up on Thursday thru Saturday in Kutztown, June 28-30 2012. In addition at nearby Adamstown there are many shops with hundreds of dealers selling. These shops are open daily during the convention.

The 31th Annual Candy Container Collectors of America Convention is scheduled tentatively  for Wednesday, June 28, 2012 (arrival) thru Sunday, July 1, 2012 (departure). The location has not yet been set, but will probably be held at the Hamton Inn in Grantville, PA, The Host Motel in Lancaster, PA or the Eden Resort Inn in Lancaster, PA. in 2012.

On Wednesday the officers meet to hold their annual meeting. A Hospitality Room opens around 4:00 PM and also on Thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Here members gather to meet old acquaintances and welcome new members.
Scrap books with photos of past conventions are on display.

A club social is held Thursday evening.

On Friday the highlight of the convention is Swap Night. Here members who have candy containers for sale set up tables filled with hundreds of candy containers. First timer eyes really light up the first time the walk into the room. Around 9:00 PM a short auction of candy containers is held were members bid on candy containers that club members have offered for sale. Saturday at 3:00PM a workshop on Repros and sometimes on new finds is held.

Saturday is Banquet night. This is a sit down dinner with appetizer, main course, desert and cofee/tea and the annual club cake. Following the dinner the club holds it annual meeting. When attendance allows, a  raffle is held for a rare candy container and everyone receives a door prize, the raffle has been discontinued because of the small convention attendance the last few years.

Sunday, everyone is on their own to visit the many antique shops in Adamstown, or they may visit shops in Gettysburg, Hershey, New Oxford, and along route 30.

Terry Whitmeyer is the Convention Chairman (1997-2012) and really puts on a great convention each year. Many rare candy containers are on display each year. Any questions about the 2012 Convention should be emailed to
Terry Whitmeyer.

Location still not finalized, will appear here when Terry tells us.
