Each year at the convention Terry Whitmeyer holds a class on reproductions. He has on exhibit many of the known reproductions to view. He then goes through each one showing what they look like and how to tell the difference from the real ones. He often passes around a mixture of a real ones and the reproduced ones to see if you can distinguish between the real one and the repro.
He also gives a history on when and by who they were manufactured. At times he has hand outs on all the known reproductions. Members are encourged to bring new finds or new reproductions to the class.

2007 Convention Repro Class- Terry Whitmeyer talking about real vs. repro candy container
Taiwan was very prolific in creating repros of a large number of old glass candy containers. Most were distributed without closures or the tin parts. Some distributors did however, provide their own cardboard closures, which sometimes indicated in addition to the ingredients that they came from Taiwan and were reproductions of the earlier candy containers. Some antique dealers took this as an opportunity to throw away the boxes and closures and try sell them for a the higher sales price of an original. Below are some of the distributors.
